An Ontological Model of Class Consciousness

This paper deals with an ontological model of class consciousness in considering struc tural determination of class formation. It is presumed here that the subjective aspect of class consciousness is an integral part of the theory and practice of class formation. The model consists of three facets: Cognitive, Affective and Evaluative-Normative. These three facets are estimated by COFAMM, a procedure for estimating factorial design. The fit of the model to the variance-covariance is reasonable. It is suggested that the three factors are each congeneric and they are all related to the concept of class consciousness.
