DOI: 10.1177/002071528602700306 The Changing Organization of Greek Canadian CommunitiesBrescia College, London, Canada This paper examines the historical development and changing organization of Greek Canadian communities since the early 1900s. Trends toward more independence from the parish community model and the establishment of recent secular community structures are seen as inevitable consequences of post-World War II demographic changes within the Greek communities. The reluctance of the Greek Orthodox church to adapt to changes within the Greek community and the larger society has become an important source of intraethnic conflict.
