DOI: 10.1177/002071529403500107 Domestic Integration and Suicide in 21 Nations, 1950-1985Center for the Study of Suicide, RR41, 5 Stonegate Court, Blackwood, NJ 08012 A study of the impact of domestic integration (marriage, birth and divorce rates) on suicide in twenty-one nations indicated that marriage and divorce rates were associated with suicide rates in the majority of nations as predicted by Durkheim. Birth rates, however, were not consistently associated with suicide rates in the sample of nations. The implications of these results were discussed.
